Foreword
Laneige, a brand known for some of the most amazing lip formulas, recently surprised us with something very pretty. Earlier we talked about the best-selling Lip Glowy Balm (reviewed here), Lip Sleeping Mask (reviewed here), and Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum (reviewed here). In this post we will look at the limited-edition Stardust collection, featuring two new lip balms with a sparkling finish and compare them to the original.

About the Product
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm Stardust (19 USD; Made in Korea) - is a collection of two limited-edition lip balm shades with a sparkly finish.
PACKAGING
The lip balm comes in a clear plastic tube and contains 10 g / 0.35 oz of product. This design is almost identical to that of the original Lip Glowy Balm (reviewed here). It is practical and travel-friendly.
Recyclable ♻️
FORMULA
Compared to the original, the new Lip Glowy Balm Stardust has Squalane (very skin-friendly, light moisturizing oil), Jojoba Oil, Citric Acid, and Camellia Seed Oil (natural oil, emollient + antioxidant).
At the same time it does not contain synthetic waxes, carnauba waxes, and several other components found in the original. The Lip Glowy Balm Stardust is not water-based.
😊 PROS
The new formula emphasizes emollience and shine; it has minimal pigments and more natural oils. It feels more balmy, smooth, and skin-conditioning.
☹️ CONS
This is a noticeably fragranced product, which could be a potential irritant for those with sensitive skin.
Personally, I did not face any adverse reactions while using this product.

TEXTURE
This formula has a cushiony, gel-like consistency. It feels balmier compared to the original. It is lightweight, non-sticky, and non-gritty.
SHADES
There are currently two shades available. Milky Way - a clear base and diamond-like, platinum shimmer. Pink Supernova - a light baby-pink base with champagne shimmer.
SCENT
Milky Way has a sweet, milkshake/vanilla ice cream scent, while Pink Supernova gives off a sweet candy aroma.
While they are delicious, these scents are not as long-lasting as those of the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum (reviewed here).
APPLICATION
The Lip Glowy Balm Stardust applies with ease and distributes shimmer particles evenly. Can be used alone or together with your favorite lip liner, lipstick, or lip stain. This formula feels instantly hydrating.
FINISH
High-shine, glossy lips. The shimmer is not overpowering unless you layer it heavily. On the first sweep, it creates a beautiful, glossy look.
WEAR
Lips feel moisturized and comfortable well throughout the day. Similar to most lip balm or gloss formulas, the Lip Glowy Balm Stardust too needs reapplications after 2-3 hours of wear.
Verdict
Although the Stardust shades are limited-edition, I have a strong feeling that we will see this formula again in the nearest future. The Lip Glowy Balm Stardust is a wonderful new launch, where you see Laneige gradually bridge the gap between skincare and makeup. The shimmery spin on the classic balm is a success. I believe this formula is so nice, it deserves to be a part of the permanent product range. These lip balms feel wonderful, look amazing, and live up to the hype. If you love your lip care with a bit of sparkle, look no further. An A from me.
