Today's post focuses on the Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser. Will it live up to the standards set by the rest of the line?

Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser (17 USD; Made in Korea) - is described as a soft, watery cleanser that gently purifies and hydrates the skin, leaving it cleansed and refreshed.

PACKAGING

As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, Round Lab have an easily recognizable aesthetic thanks to the quirky illustrations which are a visually appealing part of the brand's design. The Birch range, known for its moisturizing properties, features an imagery of birch trees and a woman washing her face beside a body of water. The bottle contains 150 ml / 5.07 fl oz of cleanser. The design is practical and simple. You also see manufacturing and expiration dates on both the bottle and the box, which is a useful detail.

FORMULA

The Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser is a water-based formula with a focus on mild surfactants, humectants, and some botanical extracts rather than strong actives.

😊 PROS

The formula highlights gentle surfactants (such as Sodium Cocoyl Alaninate, Lauryl Hydroxysultaine, and Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate) that are generally less stripping and geared towards more sensitive skin types. The hydration comes from Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, and Glyceryl Glucoside. As an added bonus, the formula contains botanical extracts (such as Artemisia Annua Extract, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, and Pinus Sylvestris Leaf Oil) that offer antioxidant and skin soothing properties. Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is also present.

☹️ CONS

Although most Round Lab products are well-suited for people with sensitive skin, some botanical extracts may be slightly irritating for certain individuals. It is wise to review the full ingredient list prior to purchase.

Personally speaking, I did not face any adverse reactions while using the product.

The product has a lightweight, gel-like consistency.

SCENT

Technically the formula is fragrance-free. However, I detect a mild herbal scent that may come from the plant-derived ingredients.

APPLICATION

The Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser is a gentle, low-pH formula that can be used twice a day. Little goes a long way, so only a small amount is needed per use. Work it into a lather, massage it over your face and neck, then rinse thoroughly.

first impression

The skin feels refreshed, looks radiant, and feels properly cleansed without any tightness. The formula is non-drying.

long-term use

According to the brand, continuous use should properly cleanse pores on a deeper level. Although this formula does not include BHAs that could unclog pores, surface-level impurities do get washed away with ease. For deeper pore cleansing, I would recommend a more potent formula containing chemical exfoliants. Frequent use of the Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser did not disrupt the barrier or cause irritation.

Verdict

If you are looking for a gentle, non-stripping cleanser that is both effective and hydrating, the Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser could be a great option to consider. Not only is the pricing attractive, but you get a reliable formula that works harmoniously with the skin barrier. This is an especially fitting choice for people with drier or more sensitive skin types. Whether it is makeup, sunscreen, or everyday impurities - this cleanser removes them all with ease. A lovely, gentle product that earns an A from me.
