Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter help soften the skin and allow better glide. Punica Granatum Flower Extract and Paeonia Officinalis Flower Extract act as antioxidants that may help preserve the formula's stability.

The use of natural ingredients may, in some cases, cause irritation. Personally, I did not experience any adverse reactions while using this product.

TEXTURE

From what I have observed, all shades swatch true to color and appear consistent with their descriptions when viewed in person.

APPLICATION

The Rouge Dior Contour Lip Pencil formula sets quickly, so I recommend blending as you go (if you prefer a softer, diffused line). Alternatively work in thin layers and build up the color before the formula dries down to prevent patchiness. Once the formula dries down, it won't budge.

I am particularly fond of the attached lip brush, as it can feel scratchy and unrefined. The sharpener, on the other hand, is a lovely tool to have.

FINISH

Natural matte.

WEAR

The Rouge Dior Contour Lip Pencil lasts up to 6-8 hours, however, eating and drinking may shorten its wear time. The formula, although not particularly moisturizing, still feels comfortable and weightless on the lips.

Verdict

The Rouge Dior Contour Lip Pencil truly delivers when it comes to longevity and full color opacity. You are working with that classic, perfected gel-pencil formulation that German manufacturers are famous for. Although the shade selection is limited, it covers many of the essential colors needed for one's makeup arsenal. Compared with other gel-type lip pencils, I would place Dior Beauty right in the high-quality category. However, as much as I enjoy using it, there are plenty of comparable options (both high-end or drugstore) that perform just as well. Overall, this is a nice launch from the brand that earns a B+ from me.
