Laneige Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum Review

from one cinnamon girl to another

Foreword

Sugar and spice. And everything nice. The moment Laneige teased the Glaze Craze, I knew they were onto something. Friends to the blog know I have a soft spot for the brand's best-selling Lip Sleeping Mask (reviewed here) and Lip Glowy Balm (reviewed here), so it was only a matter of time before the new lip serums found their way to my desk. Now that I have played with them, I am ready to share all there is to know about this exciting launch.

About the Product

Laneige Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum (22 USD; Made in Korea) - is a collection of nourishing lip serums with donut-inspired shades and flavors. The formula is supposed to be hydrating, plumping, and buildable.

Packaging: the brand is known for its vibrant, playful packaging and the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum is no exception. Each serum comes in a color-coordinated box and tube that matches the shade inside. A standout feature is the donut-shaped applicator, which feels soft, plush and adds fun to the everyday application. Each tube contains 12 g/ 0.42 oz worth of product, which is slightly more than the brand's Lip Glowy Balm. Personally, I love this quirky design.

Formula: Laneige are known for incorporating skin-loving ingredients in their formulas. While the exact ingredients may vary depending on the shade of the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum, here are some standout highlights.

😊 PROS

Punica Granatum Seed Oil (aka Pomegranate, rich in antioxidants), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Squalane (moisturizing), Ceramide NP (protects barrier, retains moisture), Sodium Hyaluronate (deep hydration), Soybean Polypeptide (anti-aging), Polyglutamic Acid (humectant, retains moisture), and Ethylhexylglycerin (hydrating preservative enhancer).

☹️ CONS

This is a noticeably fragranced product, which could be a potential irritant for those with sensitive skin. In my experience, the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum was safe to use and it did not cause any adverse reactions. However, if you would rather avoid fragrance altogether, it may be best to explore other options.

Texture: silky-smooth, gel texture. Glides on with ease. Feels lightweight, non-sticky, and lush.

I own four shades of the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum and I noticed that the texture can vary between them. For example, the shade Strawberry Sprinkles has a somewhat denser consistency, while Sugar Glaze feels more liquid than the others. This does not affect how the product wears, but it is something worth noting.

Finish: ultra high-shine; "glazed" is a great way to describe it.

Laneige Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum Review

Scent: every shade of the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum has a unique flavor and scent, each is inspired by one of our favorite desserts - a donut. I find that Laneige did a fabulous job recreating these food-like scents. If you are a fan of gourmand lip care, definitely give these a whiff next time you are out shopping.

While they are delicious and appetite-inducing, these scents are also more long-lasting compared to the brand's Lip Sleeping Mask (reviewed here) or Lip Glowy Balm (reviewed here).

Shades: currently, there are eight shades available. Most of them run sheer, with a subtle tint, but still buildable. I find the shade range uber flattering and wearable.

First image (L-R): Blueberry Jelly, Strawberry Sprinkles.

Second image (L-R): Cinnamon Sugar, Sugar Glaze.

Application: thanks to its unique donut-shaped applicator, the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum allows for even product distribution. You can wear these in place of a lip gloss, paired with a lip pencil, over lipstick, or on their own as a nourishing day-time treatment. The pigment does not stain or settle into lip lines - instead it makes lips look smooth, plump, and extra kissable.

Wear: the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum is excellent at keeping lips feeling soft and moisturized. Even after the surface layer (or color) wears off, your lips are left with a comfortable, velvety feel similar to that of a hydrating lip mask. Naturally, re-application is needed after eating or drinking. On me this lip formula lasts around 3-4 hours before I need to touch it up.

Verdict

The Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum was not only a love at first sight, but it has also exceeded my expectations. This product has become a new staple in my routine, and I honestly cannot imagine a day without it. Not only does it look and smell amazing, but it also nourishes lips, keeping them juicy and plump all day long. While I normally avoid scented skincare, when it comes to lip products, I can't resist a nice gourmand scent and Laneige absolutely delivers. These lip serums are good for your lips and your soul, and for that reason alone I am giving them a well-deserved A++.
