Foreword

From the silver screen to your vanity table - there is a reason why so many of the Lisa Eldridge products grace the faces of movie icons, fashionistas, and beauty lovers like you and me. They are just that good. To celebrate the brand's recent feature in the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, I decided to revisit and pay homage to the best-selling Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint. What makes it so special, and do you need it?

About the Product

Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint (43 GBP/57 USD; Made in France) - is described as a skin-blurring, crease-proof, ultra-blendable, and lightweight skin tint. It promises to moisturize and soothe, as well as naturally perfect your complexion.

PACKAGING

The tint comes in a lightweight, plastic bottle of an oval-shape and contains 30 ml/ 1 fl oz of product. The design allows you to lay the bottle flat on any surface, without it rolling off the table. Shade names are printed on the back of both the tint and its box. The Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint is portable and travel-friendly.

FORMULA

According to the brand, the formula is made up of 78% skincare ingredients. The Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint is water-based, with water serving as the main solvent. The formula also contains a mixture of Coconut Alkanes (plant-derived emollient), Glycerin (humectant), Silica (oil-control, longevity), Dimethicone (silicone) and various emulsifiers, stabilizers and pigments to name a few.

😊 PROS

You work with a number of skin-conditioning and beneficial ingredients including Prickly Pear Seed Oil (antioxidant-rich oil containing Linoleic Acid and Vitamin E), Sunflower Seed Oil (supports barrier function), Squalane (emollient), and Tocopherol (Vitamin E). There is 0.1% of Salicylic Acid present, which is added for preservative purposes. The formula is also fragrance-free.

☹️ CONS

Personally, I did not experience any adverse reactions while using this product.

TEXTURE

The consistency of the tint is on a lightweight, watery side. The Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint glides on seamlessly (as the name suggests) without ever feeling greasy or sticky.

SHADES

The range currently includes 20 shades. These are carefully divided by undertone and depth. The Lisa Eldridge website offers shade-matching services and charts, doing an excellent job at helping you select your perfect color.

SCENT

Fragrance-free.

APPLICATION

From my experience testing this base, I figured that both your fingers and synthetic-bristle brushes do an excellent job at spreading and blending the product in seconds. The formula is user-friendly and intuitive, where the Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint practically blends and sets itself into place.

My only tip would be - skin prep. Especially if your skin type is on the drier side and prone to texture, it is best to properly exfoliate and moisturize your complexion beforehand.

If your skin is on the oilier side, using a light dust of setting powder could be beneficial for preserving the satin finish well throughout the day.

The Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint worked well with other skincare, suncare, and makeup products I have paired it with.

FINISH

The Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint has a soft-focus, natural-satin finish. While the coverage is on the lighter side, you can always add an extra layer to areas that you want to even out more. This formula pairs well with the brand's Pintpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil. It looks flawless in real life and also photographs beautifully.

WEAR

The Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint is practically undetectable to the naked eye. It evens out redness and pigmentation, while gliding over pores and looking "second-skin" like. On average, this base lasts 5-7 hours before any noticeable fading is detected. I have put it through heat, sweat, and humidity of a steamy workout room and it did not disappoint. The formula feels comfortable and feather-light through and through.

Verdict

While I could never describe the Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint as eloquently as Lisa Eldridge would, to me this is everything I could ask for in a skin tint. It is lightweight, user-friendly, and long-lasting. Besides, the shade match I got is impeccable. While it is almost impossible to find a true neutral undertone (neither too peachy, yellow, nor pink), T3 is literally my skin tone in a bottle. I find that "second skin" is the best way to describe this formula. A wonderful choice for anyone looking for a fresh, youthful, naturally luminous finish and a light coverage. If you are looking for something more high-coverage, I would recommend the brand's Seamless Skin Foundation (reviewed here). Either way, this is an excellent product that deserves an A+.
