Becca Cosmetics Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter Review

"Imagination is a spark that ignites the fire of creativity"

Foreword

Because we can never say no to the glow! In today's post I will be sharing everything there is to know about Becca Cosmetics latest creation: Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter. As my regular readers would know (hugs!), I have always been a huge fan of the brand (and all things glowy) and with summer being only a few weeks away - this collection couldn't have come at a better time.

About the Product

Becca Cosmetics Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter Review

Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter (38 USD; 1.5 fl.oz/45 ml; Made in USA) claims to give you a pearlized glow, that lasts all-day long; the product is said to be transfer- and water-resistant. This formula is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and paraben-free.

Packaging: similarly to the brand's face primers, the new product too comes in a glass packaging (think "high-end" weight). This bottle has a beautiful duochrome ombré effect to it, that fades towards the bottom, thus allowing you to see an exact color of each highlighter. The pump gives you an excellent control over how much product you want to use at a time.

Formula, Texture: unlike Becca Cosmetics original liquid highlighters, this new formula has a unique gel consistency to it, that feels both lightweight and nourishing. Infused with Sunflower Oil, Vitamin E - it will moisturize, soften and noticeably smooth out your skin in one go. Once you start blending it in, you almost get a sensation of massaging an uber lightweight dry (referring to finish) oil into the skin.

Now, one big thing I have to mention is the scent. This product is fragranced (Pineapple, Coconut, Orange Flower being key notes) in a way that should energize you and reignite the spirit of joy. The scent will linger, so if you have a sensitive nose - make sure to sample this product first in order to see whether you enjoy it or not. Personally speaking, I quite like it.

Shade used "Passion"

Application: one thing is for sure - Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter is the easiest and most transfer-resistant face/body highlighter I have ever tried. It does not feel sticky, tacky or greasy in the slightest. It gets absorbed in a matter of seconds, thus setting to a semi-dry, glowing finish. This is why, if you use it on the face, work one area at a time. There is an incredible blending ease to this formula; the highlighter itself always looks seamless (never patchy or stripey). I do recommend using a dense, synthetic brush for the body; fingertips for the face (you might have to clean them with micellar water afterwards though). From my experience - you need around one pump or less for your face, two-three pumps for various body parts. You can always build it up to a desired intensity by adding more product.

Finish: light reflective, pearlized glow. Shimmer particles are milled to perfection and never clog pores or accentuate texture. Product looks "wet" to the naked eye, but is semi-dry to the touch. No glitter here.

Wear: Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter is also the most long-wearing liquid highlighter I have used to date. Once it is on, it will last for as long as you want it to. You might need to use an oil-based face/body cleanser to remove it, as water alone won't do the trick. For the sake of this review I tried to rub it hard against clothes and towels, but even then I would still see a lot of it left on the skin - which is great news if you choose to wear it to the beach (sand won't stick to it), open pool party or some important event, where you won't have to worry about leaving makeup marks on other people's clothes. Naturally, be mindful of how much product you apply. This formula is quite potent, so you do not need a lot!

As always, all of my swatches are raw and unedited (no added brightness, saturation etc. here - I rely on daylight only)

Colors: Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter is available in six shades - most of which are inspired by the brand's iconic Shimmering Skin Perfectors. These will suit a plethora of skin tones. Below is a quick shade comparison for those of you, who already own and love any of Becca Cosmetics powder highlighters (shades are similar yet not quite identical):

Love (translucent base illuminated by multi-colored pearls) = Pearl

Acceptance* (soft golden pearl that reflects pink) = Rose Quartz

Passion (pale, incandescent pearl that reflects gold) = Opal

Creativity (soft golden pearl that reflects peachy pink) = Champagne Pop

Gratitude (warm copper pearl that reflects rose gold) = Rose Gold

Strength (radiant bronze pearl that reflects gold) = Chocolate Geode

*marked shade is only available on ulta.com and beccacosmetics.com

Verdict

While there is a lot going on in the World right now, I will keep on visualizing wearing these gorgeous liquid highlighters at some exotic resort in the middle of the Indian Ocean (let the girl dream, okay? 😊). Compared to similar products from other brands, I must say that Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighter happens to be my new number one favorite for many wonderful reasons mentioned above. If you love a versatile liquid highlighter, one that can be worn on both your face and body, this could be your BFF. I imagine that one drop might also turn any matte foundation into a "glow from within" magic. Since this product doesn't really add much color (unless you opt for a shade much darker or lighter than your actual skin tone), you can easily wear it with minimal to no makeup to add that effortless, radiant je ne sais quoi touch to your complexion. I give it A++.
