I couldn't be more excited about my very first lipstick collection review of 2020. Friends to the blog know (btw love you all!) that I have always been a massive fan of Bite Beauty lip products. Starting 2020, the brand is 100% vegan, which is why most of its original products have been reformulated. I have already reviewed Changemaker Complexion System earlier last month - read here - and in this article I will be finally showing Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon line to you guys. Curious? About the Product

Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon (24 USD; Made in Canada) is best described as "comfortable, matte lip crayon" that feels creamy, glides on with ease and leaves you with a strikingly bold, long-lasting color. There are currently 20 shades in the collection.

If you remember the brand's original Matte Creme Lip Crayon, then think of this line as its vegan successor (in a much cuter outfit).

Packaging: I adore the fact that new matte lip crayons have [what I call] a petite Amuse Bouche cap. This signature curved lipstick tip silhouette adds personality and looks uber cute. They now have a color-matching brand logo printed on them - i.e. color you see on the outside is exactly the same as that of your lip crayon on the inside. Plus you get a built-in sharpener, which makes it easy to keep things on point at all times. These are lightweight and perfect to store/travel with.

Formula: the revamped version is not only vegan, but also clean, gluten-free and cruelty-free. Highlighted ingredients are: Pomegranate Oil (antioxidants), Wild African Mango (vitamins) and Orange Peel Wax (hydration). Olive Oil and Shea Butter play an important role, as they both help condition and nourish even the most sensitive/dry lips. As with all Bite Beauty lipsticks, these too have a delicious citrus candy scent and somewhat sweet taste to them (thanks to natural fruit extracts and never anything artificial).

Application: these lip crayons glide on like butter, delivering a 100% color opacity right off the bat. Although you can use an in-built sharpener, whenever I work with darker shades, I prefer to distribute color and outline my pout with a lip brush. I feel like you do waste a bit of product with [any] sharpener, hence I reach out for my good old Hakuhodo instead. Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon is a joy to work with; even if you have fuller lips, you can easily fill them in with color in a minute (if not less). The only shade (out of all 20), that I personally struggled with a tiny bit, was Cognac - unlike with other lip crayons, I usually need more time to finesse it.

Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon Review

Wear, Finish: unlike your traditional matte lipsticks, once Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon is freshly applied, it still has a creamy sheen to it. Now, you can easily tweak it by gently blotting your lips with a Kleenex tissue - an old-school trick that will give you the cutest satin pout in no time. But even if you do not blot down anything, the sheen will disappear in about an hour of wear all by itself. I find that once the color is on, it almost hugs your lips, making sure they feel smooth/nourished/hydrated. These lip crayons last on me for about 5-6 hours. Color can transfer though, so if you plan on having a meal in-between, make sure to have your favorite lip crayon in your bag/clutch for a quick touch up. Thankfully, I never experience any bleeding, but if you are concerned - you can use the brand's Line & Define Lip Primer to lock everything into place.

Colors: this must be my favorite part, because I can always rely on Bite Beauty when it comes to trendy, modern, sexy lip shades (doesn't matter whether we talk about nudes, reds or anything in-between). I have a ton of lipstick in my collection, but some shades here can't be even "duped" - they are absolutely unique and special in their own, magical way. This collection, for the most part, is universally flattering and has a signature lip color for every beauty lover out there. If there is ever a shade range expansion, I would love to see a fiery orange red (pretty please Bite!).
