Saturday Skin Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask, Review

Saturday Skin Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask Review

yuzu try it

Foreword

I feel like this blog is quickly turning into an exclusive KBeauty reviews platform, which I don't mind as long as we keep on discovering some amazing new products. In this post, we will be chatting about one of the cult-favorites called Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask.

Curious? Then please keep on scrolling

My Skin: dry, sensitive

About the Product

Saturday Skin Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask (29 USD; Made in Korea) - is described as a deeply nourishing sleep mask that combines a potent mix of Retinol +Vitamin C and rejuvenates skin overnight.

Packaging: this Saturday Skin creation comes in a lightweight plastic jar. You get a mini spatula and 50 ml/ 1.69 fl oz of product.

Formula: highlighted ingredients are Niacinamide (Vitamin B), Yuzu (a citrus fruit rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Retinol (Vitamin A) and Tocopherol (Vitamin E). I don't know about you, but to me this sounds like a multivitamin powerhouse! If that wasn't cool enough, this product is also rich in Glycerin (hydration) and Ceramides.

Depending on how familiar you are with Vitamin C and Retinol, you might like or dislike the fact that both are listed towards the end of the list, which means their actual content is significantly smaller than that of other ingredients. This makes the Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask a gentler, beginner-friendly option.

Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇

Texture: this mask has a gel consistency with bits of the actual yuzu running through it. Rumor has it every tub contains a whole fruit in it, which sounds amazing. The texture is quite smooth and silky, however, it can get sticky if you apply too much product.

Scent: natural, fresh citrusy scent which is pleasant yet not overpowering.

How to Use: the Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask is the only mask I know that has to be applied as the very last step of your skincare routine. Ideally at night, on top of your moisturizer. Start with a small amount first and add more as you progress. This mask can be used up to 3-5 times a week.

I did not know what to make of it, but this application method (with this particular formula) is effective. The Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask adds a beautiful coat of that "glazed donut" glow and although it appears orange, the actual mask is clear. Fine bits of fruit are quite delicate and normally they fully dissolve once the product is applied. My tip would be to do your PM routine a bit earlier, so that you give your mask a moment to set before hitting the bed.

First Impression

After the first use skin looked fresh, plump and felt extra smooth. I did not experience tingling or any other uncomfortable sensation. The product worked well on top of various moisturizers.

long-term use

I have been actively using the Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask for 3-4 months now (2-3 times a week) and not only do I have a lot of product left (I tend to use about a blueberry amount for my entire face), but I have also noticed an improvement in texture and plumpness. Whenever I use this product, my skin looks extra smooth and glowy the next morning. No irritation, which is great news considering I am quite sensitive. I think this product helped fade some of the stubborn hyperpigmentation that I had on my forehead, which is pretty much gone now (yes, I paused and double-checked in a x10 mirror).

Who is going to like it?

If you are a fellow Vitamin C/Retinol beginner, this is a good place to start. This formulation, when used moderately, is delicate enough for sensitive skin types and given the product's lightweight nature, I think it can be easily incorporated into any routine. Results are visible and if improving your skin's texture and strengthening its barrier is something you want to work on, you might really like the Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask.

If you are a Vitamin C/Retinol pro, and prefer a stronger concentration, you might want to look at advanced alternatives as this won't cut the mustard for you.

Verdict

Saturday Skin Yuzu Vitamin C Sleep Mask took me by surprise. Initially I did not know what to expect, but now I see why this product is so popular in the KBeauty community. I will gladly continue to use it and to conclude this review I give it A+.
