Today's guest star makes its debut: please welcome P'Lab (aka The Plant Base) to the blog. In this post we will discuss the brand's 83% Cherry Blossom serum and see whether or not this K-Beauty launch is worth the try.

About the Product

The Plant Base Time Stop Vitamin Ampoule (16.90/24.90 USD; Made in Korea) - is described as a multi-tasking formula that is supposed to brighten, tone, moisturize, and revitalize the skin.

*The price varies depending on the retailer.

Packaging: true to the K-Beauty aesthetic, you look at a simplistic yet practical design. The Time Stop Vitamin Ampoule is housed in a well-made glass bottle with a pipette. Even as you run low on product, the pipette is still able to pick up enough serum, which ensures hygienic and efficient use.

You get 30 ml/ 1.01 fl oz worth of product. Suitable for traveling.

Formula: from the start, I was intrigued by the 83% Cherry Blossom label. Indeed, the very first queen ingredient is no other than 🍒 yours truly.

😊 PROS

The key players here are Niacinamide (Vitamin B3, brightening), Sodium Hyaluronate (deep hydration, plumping), Bakuchiol (plant-based Retinol alternative), Panthenol (Vitamin B5, soothing, healing), Allantoin (soothing, protecting), Glycerin (humectant), Licorice Root Extract (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory), Ascorbic Acid, and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C derivative).

☹️ CONS

The formula contains several essential oils (Lavender and Bergamot Fruit Oils), along with Limonene (a fragrance component), which may potentially irritate the skin. Additionally, it includes Menadione, a synthetic form of Vitamin K, which can also be irritating.

Personally speaking, I did not face any adverse reactions while using the product.

Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇

Scent: the Time Stop Vitamin Ampoule smells of lavender (after all the Lavender Oil is listed as one of the ingredients). The scent is noticeable yet not overpowering. It does not linger.

Texture: you look at a thicker gel consistency with a slight slimy touch to it. While the formula is not sticky or greasy, it is reminiscent of Korean snail mucin skincare.

Finish: natural-radiant. The Time Stop Vitamin Ampoule has a pink tint to it, but on the skin it sets clear.

Application: can be used as part of your AM and PM routines. The ampoule creates a great emollient base for other products to go on top of. It plays well with almost all skincare I have paired it with (various formulations), as well as makeup and suncare.

first impression

Skin feels refreshed, moisturized, and soothed. The product is quite lightweight and absorbs with ease.

long-term use

I emptied a bottle of the Time Stop Vitamin Ampoule before writing this review. It took me a few months to finish the product, and in terms of hydration, this formula is excellent. I didn't feel the need to add any other Hyaluronic Acid or Niacinamide serums specifically. After about three weeks, I noticed enhanced radiance. My complexion looked bright, clear and spot-free. Although post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation takes time to fade, I believe this formula accelerated the healing process. I did not experience any irritation or adverse reactions from using this serum.

Verdict

While it didn’t exactly stop time, the Time Stop Vitamin Ampoule turned out to be a lovely and dependable addition to my skincare routine. It lived up to most of its claims, leaving my skin feeling plump and looking fresh and dewy. This P'Lab formula boasts a strong lineup of potent ingredients, though I personally wish it didn’t have a lavender scent. A delicate cherry or no scent at all would be wonderful. I can’t speak to its long-term anti-aging effects just yet, but as a daily, fuss-free serum, it performs quite well. It may not be the most revolutionary product I have ever used, but it was definitely enjoyable while it lasted. Overall, I give this formula a solid B.
