let it glow, let it glow, let it glow
Foreword
In a recent post (check it here), we chatted about a highly coveted new release by Dior called Forever Glow Star Filter. Today's review is a continuation of the topic since we will discuss the brand's second new glowing product - Forever Glow Maximizer. What is the difference between the two and do you need them both?

My Skin: dry, sensitive
About the Product
Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter (45 USD; Made in France) - is described as a multi-tasking liquid highlighter that is long-lasting and lightweight.
Packaging: if you own the brand's Forever Skin Concealer (reviewed here), then you already know what the Forever Glow Maximizer looks like. It is that same glass bottle tube, that contains 11 ml/ 0.37 fl oz worth of product, just with a silver lid (not blue). The applicator is different though - it is chunky and has this pearl-sized reservoir in the middle that picks up and holds the liquid.
Recyclable ♻️
Shade: 011 Pink
Formula: a water-based formulation with 92% of natural ingredients. Rich in Lecithin (antioxidant, contains Vitamin E), Candelilla Wax (thickening agent), Glycerin (hydration, occlusive layer), Hibiscus Flower Extract (antioxidant), Iris Root Extract (moisture), Sodium Chloride (binding agent) and more. It is quite similar to the Forever Glow Star Filter.
😊 PROS
It is always nice to see skin-loving ingredients in a makeup product.
☹️ CONS
This is a fragranced formula, which might be a deal-breaker for some people. My skin is sensitive, however, I did not experience any irritation or other side effects from using the Forever Glow Maximizer.
Texture: lightweight, thin serum-like consistency that can be easily sheered out or built up if needed.
Scent: signature Dior makeup scent, which reminds me of the brand's Miss Dior perfume. It does not linger on the skin. After a few minutes, I no longer feel it.
Shades: currently available in 7 shades. The one featured here is called 011 Pink. While they all run on a pearlescent side and are glitter-free, the lightest shade 012 Pearly is the only one with noticeable shimmer (borderline glitter) particles in it.
Application: now, according to Dior, you can use the Forever Glow Maximizer in various ways. Whether you want to accentuate the highest points of the face, brighten your lids, or use it as your blush (with a deeper shade), the options are endless. If you have a liquid blush, you can also add a bit of your favorite Forever Glow Maximizer to it to make it extra luminous.
From my experience, this formula applies best with fingers. If you choose to build it up, give the initial layer a moment to set, then add more. This way you can avoid patchiness (even though there is none anyway). The formula plays well with other products, both cream and powder.
Finish: radiant, flattering glow. The Forever Glow Maximizer can feel a bit dewy until it fully sets. Depending on how much product you apply, it will vary from a few seconds to a minute. But once it sets, it does not budge.
Shade: 011 Pink
Wear: this is a long-wearing product. I would say it stays put for at least 6-8 hours before it begins to fade away gracefully. It survives well through humidity and heat (also Pilates). Does not settle into pores or accentuate texture/dryness. Does not feel sticky, greasy or gloppy.
Comparison
Now, I am sure many of you would ask about the difference between the Forever Glow Star Filter (full review here) and the Forever Glow Maximizer. As well as, whether or not you need both.
While the Forever Glow Star Filter is designed to be used as an all-over base or something you would mix with your foundation (or layer with a concealer), the Forever Glow Maximizer is an actual liquid highlighter. The two pair beautifully. However, the decision of getting one or both is ultimately up to you and your makeup preferences. If you prefer a powder formula, you might want to opt for something like the Backstage Glow Face Palette instead.
Verdict
If glow is your middle name, you will adore the new Forever Glow Maximizer. It is an excellent liquid highlighter. I love how versatile, dependable and user-friendly it is. Flattering on beauties of all ages since it does not accentuate imperfections; instead, it livens up your complexion making you look radiant. The pink shade in particular is the ultimate ballerina dream. My only gripe is - I wish the lightest shade was not glittery. Other than that, a chic new launch by Dior that deserves an A+ rating.
