Foreword
This is "part two" of the Skinfix Resurface+ series. Previously we chatted about the Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Body Scrub (reviewed here) and today we focus on the award-winning body cream. It promises to tackle rough, bumpy skin, and kiss the KP goodbye. Does it deliver? Let's find out.

My Skin: dry, sensitive
About the Product
Skinfix Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream (48 USD; Made in USA) - is described as an exfoliant body cream that visibly smooths rough, crepey, bumpy skin, as well as helps improve keratosis pilaris.
Packaging: the cream is housed in a large 296 ml / 10 fl oz plastic tub, colored in bright lime-chartreuse. The design is simple yet practical. Please note that the packaging has slightly changed, yet the formula remained unchanged.
Recyclable ♻️
Formula: the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream is a 94% naturally-derived, well-balanced, and water-based formula. Key ingredients are Coconut Oil (potent emollient), Glycerin (occlusive layer, humectant), Shea Butter (deep nourishment), Vegetable Oil (source of fatty acids), Propanediol (humectant, solvent), as well as a mix of other natural extracts. It contains 5% natural AHA blend and 1% Lime Pearl Extract (aka Microcitrus Australasica Fruit Extract).
😊 PROS
The Willow Bark Extract, being a natural source of Salicylic Acid, offers mild exfoliation and pore-unclogging BHA properties. Blueberry, Orange, Lemon, Sugarcane, Sugar Maple and other natural extracts act as AHAs and help brighten the skin. You then get variations of potent antioxidants and fatty acids in a form of Jojoba, Sunflower, Almond, and Grape Seed Oils. Honorable mention goes to Aloe Barbadenis Leaf Juice, Panthenol (Vitamin B5), and Tocopherol (Vitamin E) that offer anti-inflammatory, soothing, and healing properties.
☹️ CONS
While the blend of the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream is generally safe, some ingredients may be comedogenic (Coconut Oil) or sensitizing (e.g. Lemon, Orange, and Sugarcane Extracts).
Personally speaking, I did not face any adverse reactions while using the product.
Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇
Scent: fragrance-free. However, I detect a faint citrus note (could be the natural ingredients used in the formula).
Texture: the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream has a consistency of a rich cream (think Greek yoghurt). It is neither greasy nor thick; perfectly balanced.
Application: the blend of AHAs and BHA found in this formulation may increase your skin's sensitivity. It is advisable to use sun protection in conjunction with the product. While you can incorporate the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream into your AM or PM skincare routine, I prefer the latter to minimize the exposure.
first impression
The product absorbs with ease and sets to a natural finish. Skin feels soft to the touch and stays hydrated for hours. Slight, temporary tingling may occur initially.
long-term use
I have been religiously using the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream for eight months.
The brand recommends this cream together with the Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Body Scrub (reviewed here). I have experimented with both products on their own and together to form an objective opinion. And here is what I have learned.
Firstly, the scrubbing step is essential. Physical exfoliation is key to smoothing out bumps, texture, and tackling KP long-term. It helps that Skinfix added AHAs and BHAs into the mix to not only address the surface, but also deeper layers. The actives help condition and soften the skin within a shorter period of time. For instance, with the Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Body Scrub initial results can be seen after one week of use.
Secondly, adding the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream is beneficial, although not entirely necessary (unless we are talking about a severe case of KP). In my experience, any rich body lotion will do the trick. Using both Skinfix products together helps lock in the results effectively. With consistent use, skin becomes smooth, free of bumps and texture. However, this cream alone does not do much without the corresponding body scrub.
Verdict
While I have genuinely enjoyed using both the Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Body Scrub and the Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream, I must say that my loyalty lies with the scrub. Out of the two, it is a potent formulation that shows results faster and has become an essential part of my bodycare routine. The cream is a lovely, hydrating formulation that will suit most skin types. Even if your skin concerns are mild, and you simply want to nourish and gently exfoliate, this Skinfix creation could easily become Bonnie to your Clyde. Both products have their time and place.
The Resurface+ AHA BHA Renewing Body Cream is a lovely, deeply moisturizing formula. However, it does not tackle KP without the scrub. If I had to pick one, I would go with the scrub and then layer any deeply moisturizing lotion. You will still see great results. Overall, I give this cream a B.
