About the Product
Charlotte Tilbury The Beautyverse Palette (75 USD; Made in Italy) - is a limited edition, 9-pan eyeshadow palette.
Packaging: true to the brand's identity, The Beautyverse Palette feels and looks luxurious. A signature mix of rose gold, stars, and shimmer creates a perfect holiday aesthetic. The attention to detail is impeccable. This palette does not feel heavy and is portable/travel-friendly. Inside, you get a high-quality mirror and nice pans of eyeshadow 1g/0.03 oz each which is a bit less compared to other brands within the same niche or price range. Some people complained about pans popping off. Personally, with my palette, there are no issues.
Formula, Texture: with this holiday release, you are getting four mattes and five pressed glitters/shimmers with a color base to them. Shade Beautyverse is considered a "Party Topper", which might explain why it appears sheerer than other sparkly shadows.
Matte shadows in The Beautyverse Palette feel buttery smooth and creamy. They are quite pigmented and blendable. There is no fallout or kick-up. Shade Cosmic Pink is the only one (out of four mattes) that runs on a sheer, cloudy side. In my opinion, it makes a perfect transition shade, without being overly saturated.
Cyber Silver in my opinion differs from the rest, as it is almost a pure metallic silver with fewer glitter particles in it. It is also a lot creamier compared to other "Crystal Glow" shades. Pressed glitters adhere beautifully to the skin without primer or glue with little to no fallout.
Cruelty-free🐇
Application: the consistency of the mattes is so buttery in The Beautyverse Palette that they practically blend themselves out. With glittery shades, I would recommend using your fingertips, as the warmth of your skin will help you achieve the most impactful, high-shine result.
Overall, this palette is a pleasure to work with. Whether you are a beginner or professional, it will take you little to no time to create easy day-time or glam night-time looks. If your eyelids tend to get oily, I would suggest using an eye primer to avoid creasing.
Wear: with an eye primer The Beautyverse Palette lasts up to 8 hours on me, with mattes fading away gracefully. Glittery shades last longer and appear sparklier as the day goes by. They manage to survive even a vigorous workout.
Colors: I would say this palette runs on the warm side with pink and gold standing out. Every shade complements another and the color story as a whole is quite cohesive and flattering.
As always, all of my swatches are unedited (over dry skin/daylight)
who is going to like it
This is a great palette for those who love sparkly, glowing, glittery eyeshadows. Even if you do not have much time to do your makeup on a given day, adding a pop of glitter will spice up even the most basic looks. Although it is a holiday release, I would use The Beautyverse Palette throughout the whole year as I love adding shimmer or glitter to most of my eye looks. If you are not into glitter, you might want to consider other options.
Verdict
Although glitter is not everyone's cup of tea, I am a human Niffler, so the minute I saw a preview of The Beautyverse Palette I knew I had to have it. I love this feminine, romantic feel with a pop of eye-blinding silver. Compared to previous releases from the brand, I must say there is a big improvement in the formulation of matte shadows in particular. They are of a superior quality and I would love to see more of them in the future. Glittery shades are true to Charlotte Tilbury's style: dazzling, fun, bold but also sophisticated and wearable. While the decision is a matter of want vs. need, I still think it is a lovely release and give this palette an A.
