About the Product
As you might recall from my previous Caudalie posts, the brand has been revamping and improving its existing skincare and bodycare lines for quite some time. Caudalie is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, using no artificial fragrances or harsh ingredients. Your favorite products now come in fully recyclable or refillable packaging, which is a great step towards sustainability and eco-friendliness.
Caudalie Vinotherapist Replenishing Vegan Body Butter (35 USD; Made in France) – is described as a nourishing body butter that provides up to 24 hr of moisture and relief for dry, eczema-prone skin.
Packaging: pale lavender tub made of recyclable plastic, which contains an impressive 250 ml/ 8.4 oz of the actual product. The design is simple and practical.
Formula: now, this is the part that I’d love to spend more time on. Friends to the blog know just how loyal I have been to all things Caudalie over the years. However, I haven’t explored their bodycare range as much (minus Hand & Nail Cream, which has been my go-to hand cream for many moons now, I highly recommend it).
True to the brand’s origins, this body butter is rich in antioxidants and skin-loving ingredients such as Grape Seed Oil, Shea Butter, and Sweet Almond Oil to name a few. Something special about the formula is Desert Date Oil, which is known for strengthening skin-barrier and nourishing it with its very much needed fatty acids.
Vegan🌱 Cruelty-Free🐇
Texture: although rich, the Replenishing Vegan Body Butter does not feel greasy or thick. It is more of that whipped cream texture that spreads easily, leaving no sticky residue behind.
Scent: this product does have a subtle sweet almond scent, which does not linger. The fragrance is listed as the last ingredient, but from my research, I gather that it is of a natural origin (Sweet Almond Oil is present as an ingredient).
Application: massage an appropriate amount of the Replenishing Vegan Body Butter into your skin in the morning/evening. This formula absorbs relatively fast, leaving a flattering sheen behind.
Instant results: skin feels smooth, hydrated, and happy. The sensation of itching or dryness fully disappears. It locks in moisture for a long time. I feel like I can go on for a whole day, without having to reapply it. I often massage the product’s residue into my hands and feet, which is something I do before bed.
Long-term results: although I can’t say much about eczema, I did notice that I get fewer KP bumps on my arms as opposed to when I don’t use this body butter. Additionally, I see fewer ingrown bumps and red spots on my legs when I use Replenishing Vegan Body Butter consistently after hair removal.
Verdict
As a swimmer, that spends a lot of hours drenched in chlorine, and a person with dry and sensitive skin – I must admit that this body butter goes straight to the top. Replenishing Vegan Body Butter feels like a big loving embrace. If you long for that “spa at home” experience, without having to deal with overpowering artificial scents or silicones, this might be the one for you. I would particularly recommend it to beauties with dry or extremely dry skin. Well done, Caudalie.
