Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream (26 USD; Made in Korea) - is a comforting deep replenishing moisturizer, that contains a rich blend of hydrating ingredients.

PACKAGING

The Rich Moist Soothing Cream is housed in a classic plastic packaging with an apothecary feel to it. Each tube contains 80 g / 2.82 oz worth of product. Recently it has been upgraded to a larger size and a fully eco-friendly packaging made of bio-degradable materials. I also appreciate that the expiration date is printed on both the box and the tube. This packaging is portable and travel-friendly.

FORMULA

The Rich Moist Soothing Cream is a water-based, Glycerin-rich formula. This product provides strong hydration, occlusive protection, and a balanced mix of antioxidants, barrier-repairing, as well as soothing ingredients.

😊 PROS

The formula appears well-rounded and suitable for people with sensitive skin types. You get solid humectants such as Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Betaine, and Sodium Hyaluronate, together with barrier-supporting Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Ceramide NP, and fatty acids. Centella Asiatica, Beta-Glucan, Aloe Vera, Portulaca Oleracea, and Scutellaria Baicalensis soothe and calm the skin. On top of that you work with skin-loving antioxidants such as Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (vitamin C derivative).

☹️ CONS

Although most Klairs products are well-suited for people with easily irritable skin, some essential oils (namely Lemon, Lavender, Orange, Geranium, Ylang-Ylang, and Eucalyptus), fragrant components, and botanical extracts may not work well for certain individuals. It is wise to review the full ingredient list prior to purchase.

Personally speaking, I did not face any adverse reactions while using the product.

TEXTURE

Creamy, white texture that sets clear. Neither greasy, nor heavy.

SCENT

While it is fragrance-free on paper, the Rich Moist Soothing Cream has the slightest scent to it due to the presence of multiple fragrant components and essential oils. The scent itself is on a faint, pleasant side and it dissipates post the dry-down.

FINISH

Natural skin finish with a touch of radiance.

APPLICATION

The Rich Moist Soothing Cream is a simple, "one and done" rich moisturizer that can be easily incorporated into both your AM and PM routines. From my experience, this product played well with makeup, sun-care, and a multitude of other skincare formulas I have paired it with.

first impression

Cream absorbs instantaneously, leaving skin feeling soft and hydrated. It coats, comforts, soothes, and protects. Does not leave a sticky residue. Unlike most rich creams, the Rich Moist Soothing Cream does not feel heavy.

long-term use

Truth be told, I finished a whole tube of this product before writing the review. And over the course of several months that I have been religiously using the Rich Moist Soothing Cream, both day and night, I have noticed how more resilient my barrier has become. Even with the change of seasons and use of actives, my skin has preserved its softness and radiance. I experienced little to no breakouts, my pores remained clear, and I was extremely happy with the deep level of hydration this product has provided me with. I have also noticed that redness around my nostrils and forehead has subsided. Although this formula is not marketed as is not marketed as a cure for post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, it can still accelerate skin recovery.

Verdict

The Rich Moist Soothing Cream was undoubtedly one of the best discoveries of last year. It may seem basic and perhaps a little boring just by looking at it. The real magic, however, lies within the tube. You get this well thought-out blend of potent ingredients, antioxidants, and skin-healing extracts that is gentle, soothing, and deeply moisture-replenishing. Skin feels protected, healthy, and well-balanced. This formula may work best for people with dry/easily irritable skin; especially during colder, windier winter months. Truthfully, a dependable, comforting cream that deserves an A+ rating.
