PACKAGING

In a true K-Beauty fashion, you look at a simplified yet practical design. The Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner comes in a large plastic bottle containing 250 ml / 8.45 fl oz worth of product. The expiration date is conveniently mentioned on both the box and the bottle. Although not travel-friendly, this bottle offers a generous amount of product compared to Western brands within the same price range (or higher).

The key ingredient of the Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner is Oryza Sativa (aka Rice) Bran Water, which appears at the top of the list, indicating a high concentration.

Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Betaine and Dipropylene Glycol act as solid humectants and hydrators. Additionally you get Rice Bran Water, Rice Extract, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Rice Seed Protein, all gentle, naturally-derived ingredients that are both moisturizing and soothing.

Anua label the Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner as Rice 70+ Ceramide and indeed we see plenty of skin barrier supporting ingredients in the formula. Namely Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Phytosphingosine, Cholesterol, Hydrogenated Lecithin. You also get the benefits of brightening and anti-aging ingredients such as Niacinamide, Adenosine, Arbutin, and Ascorbid Acid, as well as skin-healing Panthenol and Allantoin.

☹️ CONS

Certain texture enhancers in the formula (namely Diphenyl Dimethicone and Triethylhexanoin) may clog pores or cause breakouts in people with acne-prone skin. Some people may also be concerned about the mixture of Niacinamide and Ascorbic Acid, which can cause mild irritations. To be on the safe side, please review the full ingredient list prior to purchase.

Personally speaking, I did not face any adverse reactions while using the Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner.

Although this is a fragrance-free formula, there is a very faint and quickly dissipating scent likely from either Cocoa Seed Extract or Rice.

APPLICATION

Ideally, most hydrating toners are best used twice a day (AM +PM). Due to the Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner watery consistency, the most effective way to apply it would be by pouring a necessary amount into your palms and then gently patting it over the face. Alternatively, use a cotton pad.

first impression

This formula absorbs quite fast into the skin, leaving it feeling instantly supple, soft, and refreshed. It pairs well with most skincare products, as well as sun-care and makeup. Skin feels calm and hydrated well throughout the day.

long-term use

Visible results are seen with the consistent use of the toner. Since it creates a very fine, gentle layer of hydration - it can be enjoyed by most skin types. The only difference would be in what other products you choose to pair it with. With my dry skin, I found that the Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner performed best in combination with gel-like serums and richer moisturizers. I would typically use it in the morning, due to its lightweight feel. Although results are not not immediate, in time you notice skin getting clearer, more balanced and radiant. While it did not "erase" post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, it helped reduce it and played a key role in brightening, barrier-repairing, and deeply hydrating the skin. I also noticed fewer breakouts and faster healing while using this toner.
