Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Circle Eye Cream, Review

Caudalie Viniperfect Dark Circle Brightening Eye Cream Review

bright eyes, bright future

Foreword

I feel like 2023 has been a good year, as far as eye cream releases go. And in today's post, we will be chatting about one of the most anticipated launches from Caudalie - the brand's very first eye cream in the Vinoperfect range. This product has so many wonderful claims, but does it deliver?

Curious? Then please keep on scrolling

My Skin: dry, sensitive

About the Product

Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Circle Brightening Eye Cream (55 USD; Made in France) - is described as a visibly brightening under-eye cream that tackles puffiness, dark circles, and dryness.

Packaging: sleek, airtight tube with a ceramic applicator. This packaging is hygienic and travel-friendly. You get 15 ml/ 0.05 oz worth of product per tube, which is a standard amount for an eye cream.

Formula: if you are new to the brand then it is worth mentioning that Caudalie have various ranges targeting different skincare concerns. Vinoperfect is here to help brighten, depuff, and perfect the skin tone with the Radiance Serum being a true star of this line.

☺️ PROS

The highlighted ingredients are Viniferine (derived from grapes; 62x times more effective than Vitamin C), Niacinamide (texture, hydration), and Caffeine (depuffing). You also get Squalene (antioxidant), Terminalia Arjuna Extract (strengthening), and Sunflower Seed Oil (hydration) to name a few.

😕 CONS

Not a massive con, yet Cetearyl Alcohol (aka "a good alcohol") is listed as one of the top ingredients. Personally speaking, I did not experience any side effects such as dryness or irritation, but still thought to mention this in case you are extra sensitive to various types of alcohol in general.

Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇

Texture: smooth, gel-cream texture that glides on with ease.

Scent: none.

Application: ideally, you would apply your eye cream twice a day (AM and PM). With this packaging, you have good control over how much product you use with a small pea-sized amount being more than enough for both eyes.

first impression

The Vinoperfect Brightening Eye Cream feels lightweight and instantly refreshing/moisturizing. It absorbs quickly leaving a color-, shine-free, natural skin finish which is great for makeup or by itself. The sensation of hydration lasts well throughout the day.

long-term use

Being a proud owner of hereditary dark circles, I do not expect miracles from any eye cream as far as my pandas go. Having said that I have discovered that with daily use, the Vinoperfect Brightening Eye Cream managed to keep dryness, puffiness, and texture at bay. Skin looks healthy and nourished. My circles did not disappear, however, I noticed that my under-eye area doesn't look as tired as it did before incorporating this product into my routine. I believe you might get better results (as far as brightness goes) if your circles are not hereditary like mine.

Verdict

Caudalie has been in my skincare arsenal for years and their eye creams, in my not-so-humble opinion, are some of the best that I have tried in my years of reviewing beauty products. While skincare enthusiasts still debate whether you need an eye cream or not, I am a firm believer that the under-eye skin tends to be a lot more delicate and dry compared to the rest of the face, which is why it is important to give it extra love that it needs. The Viniferine in the Vinoperfect Brightening Eye Cream did not irritate my eyes which is great news if you are sensitive to Vitamin C. This way you get all of the benefits and zero itchiness. Granted, I might need more time to see an improvement as far as brightening goes (after all, my pandas are hereditary), but in general, I enjoy this product a lot. It did not outperform my number one favorite the Resveratrol Lift Firming Eye Gel-Cream, however, I still think it is a beautiful new product and give it an A rating.
