About the Product
Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick (22 USD; Made in Canada) - is described as "ultra-comfortable sheer lipstick" and is available in ten universally flattering shades. This product is cruelty-free 🐇
Packaging: compared to the brand's Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick (reviewed and swatched here), this new lipstick comes in a classic-sized, slanted bullet that is quite typical for creamy/sheer formulas. The tube is much wider than that of Mattemoiselle (I definitely prefer this packaging over the original) thus containing more product (2.8 g/ 0.098 oz). Although closure is not magnetic, packaging on all of the Fenty Beauty products is pretty good and you should not worry about cap coming off.
Formula, Texture: infused with Pomegranate Butter, this has to be one of the most hydrating and nourishing sheer lipsticks I have ever tried. It feels cushiony, smooth and quite conditioning for a lipstick (never sticky, chunky or gloppy). I have dry lips and appreciate the fact that this formula gives me a lip butter worthy hydration that lasts for hours. On the other hand, in a hot climate/weather it might easily melt inside of your bag or [what's worse] your car. Make sure you keep it far away from the heat. Texture is uber creamy and melts right into your lips; both clear and shimmery shades feel/apply the same (none of them being gritty).
Shades (L-R): Glazed, Cookies & Cocoa
Scent: this has to be the most deliciously scented lipstick that I currently own. I would describe it as "caramel-vanilla cookie heaven", but quite natural and not chemical in the slightest. It is very similar to Laura Mercier Lip Glacé. This scent does linger, so make sure you like it before buying your lipstick. Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick also tastes nice, which is something I truly appreciate in a lip product, because we all lick or rub our lips together all the time. And let's not forget kissing, because this bad boy is perfect for that (wink wink).
Application: it could not be easier! This is your true hassle-free, no mirror needed lipstick. Since all of the colors run on a sheer/buildable side, you can easily apply and re-apply Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick on the go (or in the back of your Uber). Personally speaking, I do love a good lip liner, which is why I usually pair mine with a semi-matching pencil to visually add even more volume to my lips. Lipstick glides on like an absolute dream and distributes color evenly without collecting in lip lines or separating. You do need to add a couple of layers, if you want the color to stand out more.
Shades (L-R): Glazed, Cookies & Cocoa
Wear: just like most sheer/creamy lip products, this one is not as long-wearing as something matte or satin. But! Your lips will feel quite nourished even you had it on for a few hours only. It usually lasts for about 4-5 hours on me, fading gracefully. This is one of those lipsticks you might use up quicker, simply because it wears off faster (and partially because you might get addicted to re-applying it 24/7).
Colors: with only ten colors in the range (and all of them running on a sheer side), the selection is practical yet minimal. Personally speaking, I do not think anyone needs more than one or two of these lipsticks. Some shades do look quite similar on the lips and some are reminiscent of the brand's cult-favorite Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizers (aka Rihanna's iconic lip glosses); for example Glazed is inspired by (but is not identical to) Fenty Glow.
My personal favorite is Cookies & Cocoa (described as "cocoa berry"), which is the prettiest "your lips but better" mid-toned nude with a hint of pink and finely milled golden shimmer (which adds glow but is not that noticeable). It does look quite dark brown in the tube, but not on the lips. I guess it is one of those colors you fall in love with once you try it on. Ideal for those of you, who want a sophisticated nude that won't wash you out or make you look ghostly. For reference: I have light-neutral skin tone; my shade match in Fenty Beauty is 150 and am wearing Cookies & Cocoa on the image above.

As always, I do no edit my swatches (no added brightness or saturation here) and rely on daylight only
Verdict
If you love comfortable, sheer, shiny and uber creamy lip products - these might easily become your new BFFs. Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick will look great on beauties of all colors and ages. It makes your lips look smooth, glossy and kissable. In other words - every sheer lipstick lover's dream! I applaud Fenty Beauty for creating these high quality, cruelty-free (often vegan) and most importantly inclusive products that are going to be loved by so many beauty enthusiasts all over the World. And while I am hoping to see more colors added to the range, this juicy formula deserves A+
