Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Firming Cashmere Cream, Review

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Firming Cashmere Cream Review

radiate beauty, radiate love

Foreword

As we continue our Resveratrol-Lift trilogy, today is the day when we talk about the cult-favorite Cashmere Cream. This product has been recently revamped, so let's find out what is new and if it is still just as good as before.

My Skin: dry, sensitive

About the Product

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Firming Cashmere Cream Review

Caudalie Resveratrol-Lift Firming Cashmere Cream (69 USD; Made in France) - is described as a daily moisturizer that firms, lifts, and rejuvenates the skin (an improved look of fine lines and wrinkles).

Packaging: true to Caudalie aesthetic, the design is chic yet minimalistic. Mattified baby-pink glass jar and a color-matching lid. This packaging is fully recyclable and you can buy refills (59 USD) whilst reusing the jar. In total, you get 50 ml/1.6 oz worth of product.

Formula: Caudalie have reformulated the whole Resveratrol-Lift line, including both their day- and night-time moisturizers. You can read my thoughts on the original formula here.

So, what is new? The key ingredients highlighted are Hyaluronic Acid (hydration), Resveratrol (antioxidant, anti-aging), Vegan Collagen Booster (improved elasticity), and non-GMO Vegan Collagen 1 (lifting).

PROS ☺️

The formula is water-based, rich in Glycerin (occlusive layer, moisture), Shea Butter (nourishment), Grape Seed Oil (antioxidant), and Sunflower Oil to name a few. You also see various types of Hyaluronic Acid, especially those with smaller molecules that allow deeper penetration and noticeable skin improvement in the long run.

CONS 😐

The Firming Cashmere Cream has a fragrance. While this might be a deal-breaker for some, I must say that it did not affect my sensitive skin. You also get C12-16 Alcohols, my least favorite kind (personally speaking). Usually, with prolonged use, they can irritate my skin barrier causing irritation and tightness. Thankfully, it did not happen with this product. I wonder if it is the concentration or the formulation itself, but so far so good.

Texture: weightless, watery texture that absorbs easily and leaves a natural skin finish.

Scent: added fragrance. The scent is fairly light and does not linger on the skin once the product is applied.

Application: as the name suggests (Day Cream), this product is best used as part of your AM routine. The two moisturizers, Day and Night, have different textures and feel. I would say that the Firming Cashmere Cream is more lightweight and thin. However, it is still quite potent and hydrating, without the heavy feel of some of the rich cream formulas. Make sure to take it down your neck and décolletage.

From my experience, it plays well with both other skincare (including various kinds of sunscreens) and makeup products.

First Impression

Skin feels instantly hydrated, smooth, and refreshed. This feeling lasts well throughout the day.

Long-term Use

Skin gets clearer, with fewer breakouts in sight. Even when that happens, they heal reasonably fast. In time, I have noticed more radiance in my complexion as well as an overall improvement in the fine lines that I have on my forehead. Less dryness or texture. No clogged pores or irritation.

Who is going to like it

Unless there is an incompatibility with one of the ingredients, I believe that the Firming Cashmere Cream suits all skin types. It feels light yet still quite potent. A great option for pregnant women or people who can’t tolerate Retinol in general.

Even though I am not the one to talk about some other claimed benefits like lifting or deep wrinkles (considering my young age), I believe that if you are 25+ this could be a nice preventative line for you to consider.

Verdict

While a favorite product’s reformulation is every beauty lover’s nightmare (frankly, they often go wrong) the revamped Resveratrol-Lift line does not disappoint. The new version of the Firming Cashmere Cream is just as good, if not better, than the original. The use of Vegan Collagen is smart and inventive (which is backed up by the scientific research done by Harvard University). If you are a fan of non-invasive, preventative skincare methods, I believe you might find a few gems in this collection. Now, while you can easily enjoy this moisturizer on its own, I find that it works beautifully in combination with the Resveratrol-Lift Instant Firming Serum (reviewed here) and the Resveratrol-Lift Firming Night Cream (reviewed here). I am happy with the formula and give it an A rating.
