Good Light Moon Glow Milky Toning Lotion, Review

Good Light Moon Glow Milky Toning Lotion Review

one for my K-Beauty lovers

Foreword

Lately I have been on a quest to find promising skincare products that I have never seen anyone use or talk about before. Without any research or plan, I purchased a few little things including Good Light toner that we are about to discuss in today’s post. After all, it promises to give you a radiant and smooth complexion, just like the full moon (and who doesn’t want that?).

About the Product

Good Light Moon Glow Milky Toning Lotion Review

Good Light Moon Glow Milky Toning Lotion (22 USD; Made in Korea) – is described as an ultra-light and pH balanced (pH 5.5) toner that hydrates, exfoliates and smooths the skin in one go.

Packaging: something I adore about K-Beauty products in general is how simple they look on the outside, yet how unique they are on the inside. Moon Glow is no exception – it comes in a sleek, see-through glass bottle, which has a nice weight to it and contains 100 ml/3.38 fl.oz. of product. I find this packaging quite aesthetically pleasing.

Formula: one thing that intrigued me the most about Moon Glow was its promising ingredients list. Not only is this formula fragrance-, color-, parabens-, sulfates-, alcohol-, mineral oils-, essential oils- and silicone-free, but it also is made with skin-loving Meadowfoam Seed Oil (anti-inflammatory) and Snow Mushroom (hydrating). Other notable guest stars are Niacinamide, Ceramides, Sodium Hyaluronate and more. Now, there is some Lavender Oil, Lemon Fruit Extract and Jasmine Oil here too (listed towards the end, which means their content is not that high). I personally have zero issues with these guys, but if you do – make sure to sample this product first if possible.

Texture: Moon Glow has quite a watery, milk-like appearance and feel. Maybe it is just me, however, I would even say that it has a slight bluish iridescence to it (a bit like a Moonstone crystal, you know?).

Scent: although it is fragrance-free, there is still a delicate and hard-to-label, natural scent to it.

Finish: natural skin finish (not dewy), yet quite soft and pleasant to the touch.

Application: just like most toners, Moon Glow is best used right after cleansing and before moisturizing. It is that sweet “in-between” step that makes everything else applied on top feel and absorb much better. To avoid an unnecessary waste of both cotton and product, I always apply toners with my hands. Simply pour a few drops of Moon Glow onto your hands, massage your skin and let it breathe for a moment before going in with other products. Since this formula is so gentle, it can be used during both AM and PM routines.

Short-Term Results: even though this product has some natural AHAs in it, the formula is well-balanced and does not sting even sensitive skin. I am a big advocate of toners in general. As someone who is dry, I do find that they make a huge difference in how other products (layered on top) penetrate the skin. They create a comfortable occlusive layer and I always notice texture improving over time, whenever I include hydrating/brightening/exfoliating toners in my routine. Even better if you come across a multi-tasker like Moon Glow, which is basically three-in-one.

Moon Glow feels soothing and hydrating. It soaks in reasonably fast and leaves skin feeling supple and bouncy. Although it has a mix of oils, it is still uber weightless and does not feel greasy in the slightest. This toner is a good team-player and did not compete with any other skincare products I have used alongside with it.

Who is going to like it

Moon Glow is formulated in a way, where I do believe that it will suit all skin types, including sensitive. Naturally, it will be most loved by beauties with dehydrated or drier skin types.

Verdict

In a few weeks’ time that I have been using Moon Glow, I have been sincerely enjoying it. You can tell that Good Light put a lot of love and effort into perfecting this formula, as it ticks all of the boxes for me. I do think that this toner has a potential to become one of the most sought-after products as far as K-beauty goes. Not only does it live up to its claims, but it also speaks to a modern, environmentally-friendly and socially-responsible consumer. I will be updating this review once I finish the product and for now it gets A from me!
