About the Product
Caudalie Vinergetic C+ Vitamin C Energy Serum (53 USD; Made in France) - is described as an instantly illuminating, plumping, and skin-revitalizing serum that is high in antioxidants.
Packaging: the serum comes in a recyclable matte green glass bottle. You get 30 ml/ 1.02 fl oz worth of product, which is a standard amount. This packaging is hygienic as it is airtight and you can additionally lock the pump when traveling (to avoid any spilling).
Formula: as most of you might know, Caudalie creates all of its products based on grapes. The fruit is rich in Polyphenols, which are a great source of Vitamins C and E as well as Carotenoids that when applied topically protect the skin from environmental aggressors and pollution.
PROS😊
The Vinergetic C+ Vitamin C Energy Serum is rich in Squalane (anti-inflammatory), Grape Seed Extract, Glycerin (hydration), as well as Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid. Ingredients are sustainably sourced, with Grapes being upcycled.
CONS🙁
A higher percentage of C14-22 Alcohols might not be great news for people with extremely sensitive skin. I have been using this product for well over a month and haven't experienced any issues. I did, however, react badly to C12-16 Alcohols in the past. So take this note with a grain of salt.
Vegan🌱 Cruelty-Free🐇
Scent: no artificial fragrance was added to the formula. The serum does have a slight "green" scent to it (of a natural origin).
Texture: runny and easily absorbent. The color of the liquid is white, however, it sets clear.
Finish: radiant.
Application: the Vinergetic C+ Vitamin C Energy Serum can be used both during your AM and PM routine. Personally speaking, I love using mine in the morning (and perhaps Retinol at night). You only need one to two pumps for your entire face and neck. The liquid absorbs in no time, leaving a glowing finish. Other products play and mix well with this Caudalie creation. Needless to say, you should always follow up with a sunscreen.
first impression
Skin feels hydrated and supple. I did not experience any tingling or irritation.
long-term use
Skin is plump, smooth, and well-balanced. I noticed that I started getting fewer breakouts and even when spots appeared, they would heal quickly and leave little to no hyperpigmentation.
Verdict
If you are on the hunt for a gentle yet potent serum to start your Vitamin C journey with, I can see how the Vinergetic C+ Vitamin C Energy Serum could become your perfect match. It works wonderfully for my sensitive skin, where I can use it daily (unlike some other, heavier formulations). I think Caudalie delivered what they promised. I started noticing positive changes in my skin within a week, which was quite impressive. I give this product an A rating and do recommend it to pretty much all skin types.
